Class Color Day- SENIORS '11
Today was the last homecoming spirit day of my life. It was really bittersweet. I loved dressing in red from head to toe and reppin’ the graduating class of 2011, but it also made me sad. I have this distinct memory from freshmen year. It was class color day and I was awkwardly wearing my yellow custom made t-shirt. As I was coming through main hall, Courtney Price and Benn Fairbanks (both dressed completely in red and holding hands) were walking towards me. I remember thinking to myself how beautiful they both were and how I couldn't wait to one day be walking in their footprints. Today was that day.

Tonight was the homecoming football game vs. Dulles! The stands were completely FILLED! I have never seen so many people supporting Austin Football in my life. The fans were enthusiastic and our boys were pumped... I wish EVERY Friday night football game was like this! They fought hard and played extremely well, but sadly we lost 26-17. It was a very exciting game to watch, especially since it is homecoming weekend! During halftime, they announced the homecoming queen and king. My best friend, Katy Lowery, was escorted by her dad and she looked beautiful (like always)! Our queen is Savannah Myklebust and our king is Brelynn McNary! They are both so precious and they represent our school well! Congrats to everyone that made court- you ALL looked beautiful tonight! After the game, we stayed to watch the band and angels perform. They blow me away every time they step onto the field! Austin's football team may struggle to win a game, but our band and angels beats all of the other school EVERYTIME! All of my friends and I went to Whataburger afterwards, and we pronounced Katy Lowery the Homecoming Queen of Whataburger. We had a ceremony and all!
When the night came to an end, I realized how much I am going to miss this. Senior year has gotten off to an amazing start! Seniors- Class of 2011… it's hard to believe but, you're gonna miss this and you're gonna want this back. You're gonna wish these days hadn't gone by so fast. These are some good times... so take a good look around, you may not know it now but you're gonna miss this!
