Day 336: Sugar Land.

After I got off work tonight, Shannon and I went to the Christmas Tree Lighting in Town Center. This place was swamped with people! We arrived relatively late, but we still enjoyed walking around to all of the tents. They had face painting station, a poppin' dance party, plenty of food/desserts for sale, a blow up snow globe, and much more! Santa and all of his elves were even there! In fact, Santa is the one who lit the Christmas tree. On his way down to the stage, he was repelling off of the Minute Maid building and got his beard caught in the rope. He was stuck up there, with the spotlight on him, for a solid 15 minutes. I was embarrassed for the jolly ol’ man! Everyone counted down from 10, and then the Sugar Land Christmas Tree was lit! This event seemed to be a HUGE success for our city. My family moved to Sugar Land in 1993 and everything has changed since then! It has evolved into a very populated, highly developed and constantly growing city! In fact, they are in the process of building a minor league baseball stadium a few minutes from my house. They named our team the Sugar Land Skeeters. I don't really get the name... but it seems like Sugar Land is going big time!
